The Language of Art Residency

This is not your typical art residency! You’ll make & exhibit your art in Costa Rica + immerse yourself in a creative adventure.

For six days and seven nights, we will paint, dance, and fly with trapeze before relaxing by the pool and soaking in the sights and sounds of the Costa Rican jungle.

What is it about?

Talking through color and movement. Life can get overwhelming with responsibilities like motherhood, work, or healing a big transition. Putting emotions into words is not easy. This is a safe space for you to transform emotions into art.

What is Included?

  • Airport to Retreat Centre Drop-off/Pick-up (Includes transportation to and from the SJO airport or from a nearby pre-determined hotel in San Jose.)

  • 6 nights of jungle accommodation at Airborne Arts

  • 3 delicious, locally sourced meals each day

  • Total creative immersion on an open-air deck with 20-25 foot ceilings and view of Diamante Falls and its surrounding valley.

  • Structured expressive acrylic painting workshops on Recycled Vinyl Records

What’s not included?

Flights to/from SJO (NOTE: We are unable to organise individual travel itineraries. If for some reason you are unable to line up with our group travel plans you will be responsible for your own transportation including costs)

  • Private Accommodation - Accommodation is co-ed dorm style.

  • Travel insurance

  • Optional massage, paragliding, surfing classes (These can be booked directly through Airbourne Arts before travel)

  • Whether you’re feeling stuck, starting a new chapter, or ready to be inspired by another culture- this residency is for you!

  • The goal is to learn new ways to express yourself while building an international creative community.

Cost?

The full price of the retreat in 2026 is $2700 (USD).
